At a young age I found I was deeply enamored with the tiny. Anything you had to stoop down to see, anything you could fit into your hand and study. We all collect trinkets, small bits of nature, anything to connect us with a memory or feeling. In a busy world where bigger is better I can still find the calm in any pocket treasure.
By using the same painting techniques as I would a large canvas I can introduce the same drama a large work can bestow-but in a mini package. It is my goal to make collectable and attainable artwork that might not fill a wall space but it will invite a viewer to stop, come closer and experience it in a way a large work cannot.
